Real-Time Intelligence for Wildfire Decision Making

SkyTL helps responders, operators, and insurance companies make the bets decisions to pre-plan and reduce risk before fire season, pre-position during high fire risk conditions, and respond during an active incident. We provide with the real-time information that’s missing today by pulling data from all available sensor networks and assets and modeling it through a robust wildfire modeling engine that accurately predicts critical information, such as wind corridor forecasts for the next 7 days, ember propagation through vegetation and built environments, and optimum fuel break placement.

Tech Showcase

Tuesday, November 4

During the tech showcase, we will run through recent use cases to explain how science and technology can significantly reduce the next wildfire catastrophe. Using a collaborative approach, our goal is to demonstrate that, when we merge emerging technologies into a decision making engine that captures the latest advances in wildfire science, we are making a huge leap forward in the way we prepare and respond to wildfires.

LA Fires 2025

A Before and After Analysis on Ember Behavior & Damage

Vegetation Management & Home Hardening Analysis

We will analyze the vegetation and built environment before and after the LA fires, and explain how vegetation management and home hardening can change the outcome.

Optimum Fire Break Placement

We will assess how often vegetation management should be performed and the optimum location of fire breaks to avoid the next Palisades.

High Fidelity Ember Simulation

We will show wind corridors and non hardened homes created the perfect ember storm through a high fidelity ember simulation model.

Converting Assets into Intelligence

We will demonstrate how we can convert our sensor networks and assets into intelligence, reducing the risk prior to a wildfire and maximizing the effectiveness of initial attack.

Minimizing Ignition Risk While Maintaining Load in the Electric Circuit

A WUI use case in Anaheim, CA

Fuel Analysis & Vegetation Management Playbook

We will analyze the fuels across Anaheim Hills and the risk for power line ignitions, and determine a playbook for vegetation management.

Real-Time Data & Optimized Targeted Shutoffs

We will show how we can leverage real-time data and physics based wind and ember modeling to optimize targeted shutoffs.

Science-Backed Customer Communications

We will talk about science-backed customer communications, giving a concrete way to explain to residents the decision making using data and evidence.

Optimizing Prepositioning

We will show how to optimize prepositioning by tracing ember ignition corridors from the wildland into the built environment.

Estimating Wildfire Risk Beyond Statistical Averages

A Physics-First, Wildfire Loss Projection & Prevention System Synced with Suppression

Optimize Hardening & Vegetation Management

We will look at how to use these models to optimize hardening & vegetation management to recommend the least-cost, highest impact initiatives.

Holistic Physics-Based Risk Assessment

We will assess a property risk using a holistic physics-based, ML enhanced approach informed by real-time data that fuses wind models, ember transport, and terrain to show the future risk on a given property

Continuous Monitoring & Early Action

We will show how a continuous monitoring and early action platform can trigger targeted alerts and pre-emptive action suggestions to protect the property and those inside.

Real-Time Suppression Synchronization

We will demonstrate real-time synchronization with a suppression system and the effect of such suppression systems on a Napa property.

How to Prevent Firefighting Aircraft Grounding due to Drone Incursions

A NASA funded airspace management system for emergency responders

Complete Visibility

We will show how incident commanders can gain complete visibility into all aerial operations through familiar interfaces without requiring additional training or equipment.

Prevent Unauthorized Drones

We will demonstrate how to prevent unauthorized drones to force the suspension of critical aerial firefighting and rescue operations.

AI-Driven Conflict Detection

We will show how AI-driven proactive conflict detection and resolution capabilities can enable manned and unmanned aircraft to respond together.

Priority-Based Access

We will demonstrate a priority-based system for emergency responders to easily gain airspace access.
