WindTL could have altered 2018 Camp Fire outcome

Before the LA Fires of 2025, the 2018 Camp Fire had been the costliest disaster today.  However, the disaster ignited under circumstances that, while extreme, were not unforeseen. Near the small community of Pulga in Northern California, a worn transmission line gave way during high winds in the early hours of November 8. What followed was a tragedy of unprecedented scale: 85 lives lost, more than 19,000 structures destroyed, and a total economic impact exceeding $16.5 billion, leading the utility company into bankruptcy.
