Wildfire Solutions for Utilities
AI-powered wildfire intelligence to protect infrastructure, reduce liability, and make informed shutoff decisions, without needing a dense network of weather stations.
The Challenge
Electric utility companies are on the frontlines of wildfire risk. Shutoffs must be timed precisely. Infrastructure must be protected. And once a fire starts, the data you need often comes too late.
The problem? Most utilities still rely on sparse weather stations and regional forecasts. These tools don’t capture the hyperlocal wind patterns, fuel conditions, and infrastructure exposure that drive fire behavior — or determine liability.

WindTL’s Solution
WindTL helps utility providers make better decisions across the wildfire lifecycle:
Before the Fire: Identify ignition risk zones, predict ember spread across critical assets, and simulate firelines under various conditions.
During the Fire: Integrate real-time weather and sensor data to assess infrastructure threats and coordinate field responses.
After the Fire: Reconstruct fire behavior to support claim validation, resource allocation, and public safety reviews.
How it works
Hyperlocal Wind Modeling with WindPINN
At the core of WindTL is WindPINN, our proprietary 3D wind modeling framework built using Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs). It generates mass-consistent, 3D wind velocity fields over complex terrain using sparse inputs from satellite and weather data.
This allows utilities to:
Replace the need for weather station saturation
Predict wind shifts and gusts near transmission corridors
Feed real-time wind fields into ember spread and fire progression models
Data Sources & Processing
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)
LANDFIRE fuels and vegetation data
NOAA/NASA weather feeds
Custom IoT or UAS sensor feeds (if available)
Model Outputs
Real-time fire progression maps
Predicted ember landing zones across infrastructure
Risk scores for prioritized circuits
Safe shutoff and re-energization windows
